Dear Parents, Taking opportunity of the start of new academic session, I would like to share few important things, related to our present strategy and future plans. The educational sector is on its way to flourish in Qatar and we are striving our best to keep pace with it. BFPS has crossed a number of miles stones in its way to achieve academic excellence. Last year proved to be a successful year for the school and its stakeholders. First batch of A Level students appeared through Edexcel, London Board and number of our students scored A grades. Danish Imitiaz of X-Matric scored first position in Qatar in Federal Board exams. The students posted remarkable result in SSC and HSSC exams. A number of laurels were achieved in external sports and co-curricular competition. Infrastructure was improved and additional classrooms were built. Few teachers have also joined the school for teaching senior classes. Overall performance has been notable, but I believe there is room of improvement in areas. Future has kept more promises for the school, especially for the students. We are ready to start a new era at BFPS, I am confident that the school is ready to deliver as per your aspirations. I can assure that all team is motivated to enhance academic standards at BFPS and no stone will be left unturned in improving quality standards and level of education. I would like to share some of the plans, which we are going to introduce from the start of next academic session: Introduction of Weekly Test: All students from grade I-XII will be tested on weekly basis in order to monitor their performance on regular basis, and to solve any problem at initial stage. Monthly Test Evaluations: At the end of the month, a scheduled test will be taken from the students of grade I-XII, which will be graded and its weightage will be added in final term result. You are requested to ensure that your ward is prepared well for the tests. Inclusion of Trained Teachers: A new batch of teachers to teach in senior classes has been selected from Pakistan that is going to join the school in May, 2010. Monthly Parents Teachers Meetings: To enhance communication between the teachers and the parents, a meeting will arranged at the end of every month. You are requested to attend the meeting regularly and provide us your feedback. Start of IGCSE & Matric Classes in Grade VIII: In order to provide more time for Board classes, grade VII students will be offered IGCSE and Matric syllabus from the start of 2nd term, scheduled in December, 2010. Registration with Cambridge University: The school is already in progress to get affiliation with Cambridge University for IGCSE and AS/A Level. It will enable us to provide more options to the students along with existing Edexcel and FBISE system. Separate Girls Classes: All girls’ classes from grade I-XII will have separate classes and laboratories that will help us to segregate boys and girls wings completely. Introduction of BA & MA Classes: The school is also working on to get affiliation of a reputed Pakistani university to offer BA and MA classes in the evening. Classes will be launched after formal completion of legal requirements. House System for Extra Curricular Activities: To introduce real game and competitive spirit, House System is being initiated. All extracurricular activities will be arranged on house basis. Rewards for Outstanding & Well Disciplined Students: Awards will be given to the students who show best academic results and exemplary discipline in the classes. English & Urdu Literary Societies: To inculcate habit of active learning, English and Urdu literary societies have been formed. There will be public speaking sessions, poetry and prose writing competition and annual plays under these societies. Proposed Extension of School Premises: Talks are underway to acquire more land adjacent to school and construct a play ground and additional academic block. Moreover, existing facility will be refurbished by upgrading science labs especially computer labs in order to cater demands of the time. I believe that the school can do wonders as we are well equipped and determined to provide you with the best quality education. I request your active support and assistance to achieve us our objectives, which will ultimately benefit the students. Wishing you best of everything, Principal Mrs. Mussarat Irfan.
