Bismillah Erahmaa Neraheem

Dear Parents

Assalamoalaikum

Over a decade ago BFPS took a modest start and today, by the grace of God, it stands out as one of the leading institutions of Doha. With an enrolment of 1800 bona fide students & 175 staff—comprising teaching, administrative &  support—it has emerged as a true International Educational Model of the Capital city. Two main educational packages are offered; Pakistani Matriculation & Intermediate (SSC, HSC of Federal Board, PK) and British qualifications—IGCSE, GCE, O & A, As, A2 levels (Edexcel of London Board UK). Major streams are; Engineering, Medicine & Commerce. BFPS is now fully established in the new premises, Abu Hamour environs. The state-of-the-art facility comprises three separate academic wings-- Pre School (Reception—Grade II) & Sr School (Grade III—XII/O&A levels)—further bifurcated into Boys & Girls Wings—Exam  Halls, Multimedia Rooms, Computer & Scientific Labs (Physics, Chemistry, Biology) Art & Craft, Conference Hall, Coyer, Cafeteria, Gym, Playland, Assembly & Prayer Areas, Staff Rooms, Administration & Accounts Office, Emergency Exits. Outdoor sporting activities include; Basketball, Volley Ball & Cricket; proposed additions are Swimming Pool & Football Field. A fleet of comfortable coaches caters to the transportation of students & staff, reaching out to the suburban localities. Campus surveillance is of standard security.

Last year BFPS gained recognition as an approved London Board study & examination centre to offer Edexcel qualifications. Entries for May 09 exams have just been finalized. The academic year, September to June, comprises Two terms (1st Sept—Jan & 2nd Feb—June); each with Two major exams (Mid & End/Final). Performance in all exams is credited towards final assessment. Further testing is supervised by subject teachers during normal periods. From 2nd Term Class VIII is considered as Pre Board Class for both Fed & London Board Streams. Subject specialists conduct these classes to raise standards and lay foundations for the Board exams. In the last Federal & London Board exams BFPS students did remarkably well and achieved 100% result. Congratulations to students & teachers alike!

Alongside educational achievements BFPS students have been actively participating in sports & extra activities and brought laurels to the institutions by winning trophies, certificates, prizes in speeches & debates, quiz competitions, art & cultural shows, outdoor events & games—some to mention are; 3rd Asian Games Doha 2005, 5th National Campaign for Qatar Green & Clean. It is commended that BFPS also joined hands and offered all out support to humanitarian causes like; donations for earth quake victims (QR 10,000/-) and for Alshifa eye hospital (QR 10,000/-) respectively. I take this opportunity to express my gratitude for the constant support & assistance provided by Ministry of Education Qatar, Chairman/Members BOD, Pakistan Mission in Qatar and above all Parents in growth & development of this institution. Recently the school donated QR 23000/- for Gaza rehabilitation through Qatar Charity. Certainly BFPS has great promise.

The horizon of Education is infinite & limitless; it's like fathomless sea—the deeper you go the more discoveries you make—and a real challenge for students to undertake. I am proud to say that Pakistani students have great potential and an ideal teacher would be the one who can unlock their hidden talent. Parents' support is equally important in this process. Any educational activity undertaken must make students self reliant, they understand concept & are able to apply concepts in real life situation, can differentiate between right & wrong, understand other's rights and be able to bring about positive changes in the society. The purpose of education is to be able to do the right thing at the right time and when it ought to be done, whether we like it or not, and perhaps it is the first lesson that ought to be learnt thoroughly.  Students, teachers and parents need establish harmony, linkage & transference to achieve this progression. Furthermore discipline acts as a catalyst for optimum results.

At this point I like to share my viewpoint on criticism:

"It is not the critic that counts, not the one who points out that the doer of a deed could have done better. The real credit belongs to the person in the arena; who is marred with dust, sweat & blood, who strives valiantly and comes up short again & again whenever he errs, for there is no effort without an error, who when triumphs is exuberant of his attempt, and even if he fails in a worthy cause he knows that his place shall not be among those timid & cold souls who know neither victory nor defeat."

In the end I wish all students & staff a very enterprising academic year 2009—2010; for details please refer to the school calendar

Best Regards.
