Co-Curricular Activities

BFPS considers socio-personal development of their students as an integral part of education. Accordingly, co-curricular activities are on high priority with BFPS. Besides a large number of clubs busying themselves during activity period on Thursdays, a host of activities are conducted with a fair degree of frequency in and out of the school. These include quizzes, speech declamations, story/essay writing competitions, spellathon, word-building contests, handwriting/calligraphy/art competitions, IT competitions, celebrations of important religious and national days. The high points are Annual day, Science exhibition, Sports day and the annual publication of the school magazine, ‘The Future’. Field trips, study tours and picnics also figure as a part of extra/co-curricular activities. Guest speakers and scholars are frequently invited for lectures to educate children on broad spectrum of issues.

 

Drawing

Weekly drawing classes offer the children an opportunity to try out and enhance their artistic abilities. The art and craft club activities are complementary effort during activity period on Thursdays.

 

Physical Education

Due stress is laid on physical education. Annual sports day is an important event. BFPS also participates actively in Inter-school sports competitions held under the auspices of Ministry of education. Gymnastics & Aerobics club has a large number of student memberships. It carries out its regular activities on every Wednesday during the activity period. Evening Judo & karate courses are also run under qualified instructors. BFPS is the first school in Doha to offer a purpose built gymnasium, with latest work out equipment.

Discipline

Cultivation of keen sense of discipline in students is vitally important for their wholesome socio-personal growth. Students are educated to developed self-discipline and civilized mannerism in a concerted way. Any breach of discipline and norms of good behavior is taken seriously and preceded against (including suspension/expulsion from school). A duly signed discipline Performa (see annexure I) is required to be submitted along with the admission form.
